"The Silent Thief" Makes Noise in Indie Film Genre

LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 05/30/12 -- Critically acclaimed director Jennifer Clary ( journeys to Romania for the screening of her film, "The Silent Thief" (, at the Transilvania International Film Festival XI, presented by Romanian Film Promotion.

Six weeks since "The Silent Thief" initially debuted, the accumulated interest in the film has been anything but silent. Dubbed "an impressive debut by writer/director Jennifer Clary" by Cinema 41, "The Silent Thief" examines familial bonds, the human need to belong and the thin line between sanity and insanity. The film follows Brennan Marley, an outcast drifter who threatens to destroy a family's unity by displacing their biological son while he is away at college. Jennifer Clary's powerful writing and direction coupled with powerhouse performances by Toby Hemingway and Kurt Fuller have captivated viewers and critics alike.

TIFF is one of the largest film festivals in the world. Recognized by FIAPF as an A-List festival, the Transilvania International Film Festival attracts upwards of 70,000 attendees and has become a cultural landmark for prominent figures in the entertainment industry. "The Silent Thief's" invitation to the Transilvania International Film Festival is a great honor for Clary, as she continues to participate in many top international competitions. "The Silent Thief" will be screening in the popular Shadows program, which showcases only twelve elite films from around the world in the categories of horror, thriller and fantasy each year.
